Fingerposts in Cumberland
Cumberland examples
As a rule fingerposts in Cumberland consist of:
- Round metal posts painted in black and white bands and with 'Cumberland County Council' in raised lettering down the post (this is done in black piant on white bands, and white paint on black bands - very fiddly to do, I imagine!)
- Posts topped with finials
- Square-ended metal arms with black edging and black text on a white background
- Mileage to the destinations are given to the nearest quarter mile.
